Improving our knowledge of dentistry
Tracy and Dale took time out of their schedule this month for continuing education at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry. The Scottsdale Center for Dentistry is a $50 million, 65-thousand square foot facility that serves as a world-class continuing education facility right here in the Phoenix Valley. It was a pleasure for us to be with so many professionals who are striving for excellence in dentistry through an ongoing commitment to education at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry.
In this course, Excellence in Restorative Procedures and Techniques, Dr. Frank Spear discussed: the advantages and disadvantages of modern esthetic materials, temporization techniques, dentin adhesives, material selection and tooth preparation techniques for all different posterior restorative possibilities, inlays, onlays, full crowns, and veneers.
An exciting new adhesive
Perhaps the most exciting bit of information we received was Dr. Spear’s announcement of a new dental adhesive that will bond to zirconia (feel free to contact us for more info)! This is an important development both for our industry and for us as the price of alloys continue to increase and the use of all-ceramic and zirconia-based restorations are becoming more and more popular.
We strive to make you a hero to your patients!
It was an honor to take part in . . .
the first ever Dentscape Continuum!! This was a series of 4 hands-on courses taught by Japanese Ceramist Naoki Aiba, C.D.T. in Monterey, California. With an intimate group of other excellent technicians, Dale flew to Monterey 4 times in 2011 to take part in this exciting opportunity to learn from one of the finest artists working in the industry today.
Mr. Aiba is a member of the exclusive Oral Design team begun 30 years ago by Mr. Willi Geller of Austria. Naoki’s teaching facility, Science Art, is an official Oral Design center here in the USA.
Areas in which Dale received certification:
- COURSE-I: Back To Basics: Learning From Nature
- COURSE-II: Key Effects™: Use of Specific Powders & Effects
- COURSE-III: Shade Taking & Dental Photography A to Z
- COURSE-IV: Foil Technique Porcelain Laminate Veneers
As we strive for excellence it is our goal is to make you a hero to your patients!
To Your Success,
The Signature Team
This past March, Dale had the privilege to attend a 2 day hands on course with Master Dental Ceramist, Willi Geller. Ever since, we have been receiving unsolicited, “Wow-factor” comments about Dale’s work. Apparently the difference is noticeable! Mr. Geller is world-renowned as one of the best artists of our time.
Earlier this year, Dale and Tracy enjoyed attending the AZDA meeting where the highlight was the all day lecture by Dr. Steve Cutbirth. His approach to veneers is simple and effective. For more information on Dr. Cutbirth’s Center for Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry (C.A.R.D.), visit his website: www.centerforard.com
E-max is changing things . . .
The new E-max lithium disilicate material is growing in popularity. This new breed of ceramics is promising in that in vivo wear rates are within range of normal enamel wear. Strength rated at 400 MPa, this material offers exciting new opportunities in restorative dentistry. The material’s strength and optical properties offer dental professionals multiple options for achieving highly durable and esthetically pleasing restorations. If you’d like more informations on the science of E-max, call us and we will send you the literature.
As always, we are here to make you a hero to your patients!
